Instance 7 - Uldaman

So Kathna had a few quests in Uldaman and its on the list so off we went with Inian of course. I like this instance and was excited because I thought 3 was enough to get to the last boss too.

I love this part its so Indiana Jones ish. These are the kind of things that makes Blizzards game designing great. The addition of neat things like this just makes the game that much more fun.

This is the first instance where I killed us a few times. First I grabbed this boss guy who does this annoying wind thing that could still hit us. It prevented us from casting which was the end of us. I pulled him with the whole room or it wouldn't have been a problem lol The second time I killed us is when I gathered like 10 troggs, 6 of which turned Berserker and owned us, Oops!

Here we are waving good bye to the last boss. He was a push over, we destroyed him pretty quick! Kathna got lots of quests done, we got in the treasure room. It was all good fun :)

Instance 6 - Stratholme

I jumped in a group for Stratholme via the LFG tool. Apparently several had been waiting hours for the thing to turn a group. We at least had enough to do the instance, Paladin, Rogue, Mage, Hunter and Me.

I always loved the look of this instance. I think more instances should be burning! It just had the right feel too it. Blizzard does this well.

The group was pretty good. We had several non 60s and the Mage also had never been here before. He seemed unsure about running into the middle of all those mobs at first :) We had some fantastic accidental pulling too :)

This boss is cool, none of us said anything and it shocked the Mage when he turned into a demon. We barely were able to kill him, almost lost myself and others during the fight. He wasn't going down fast enough.

It was a fun run though, I think I lost the hunter once when he pulled 2 packs, and the mage once because he was extra squishy :) Probably won't be back to Strath till Inian and I can AOE the whole zone down :)

Instance 5 - Maraudon

For those just joining us you might be wondering what the Instance count is for. I decided a few days ago to make a victory lap of all the instances in WoW in light up the upcoming expansion.

For the Maraudon run Inian joined me along with Kathna a friend who is coming back to WoW after not playing for 7 months. He is 44 and I figured he would live and get good exp on the run

There of course was much AOE action. Kathna got in and did a bit of stabbing when possible :)

I liked this retina burning shot. So many of the evil green oozes died in one place their poisonous aura was painful to look at!

Here we are as we make our way up to Landslide. I always liked the beauty of Maraudon. Such a great instance, a little huge though but it was designed in such a way that you could sort of just do parts. Most people liked to do Princess runs.

Speaking of the Princes here she is in all her ugly glory. I remember the first time I went I didn't have this as the picture in my head lol She was a pretty easy fight for us actually :)

Ahhh Rotgrip, the gator that made me famous in my guild :) I am known as the Rotgrip hero for continuing to wear my Rotgrip Mantle as we progressed through such instances as BWL and AQ40. I did finally replace them of course but I kept the item, it still sits in my bank :) To commemorate this visit Rotgrip saw fit to drop his Mantle for me yet again!

Finally we exit with a portal under water so Inian could flood IF :) If only that worked it would be hilarious!

It was a good long run. We went in via the purple side cleared all the way back. We didn't do any jumping and pretty much killed everything in the zone except for a part of the Orange section. Brings back the memories :)

Instance 4 - Scarlet Monastery

Well considering I was killing Oakshlis in Shadow Fang I decided I probably couldn't drag him through Scarlet Monastery like I thought so this time Inien went with me for the AOE destruction fun!

Here we are outside just before we went into the instance. I remember the first time I went here it was quite interesting. That was back before the honor system so PvP was more of something someone did just for the sake of it. High level Horde used to love to sit outside or inside just to kill you on the way in.

Here we are in the graveyard wing. I don't think I even ever did this wing as a appropriate leveled character. Only for fun farming purposes or whatever. This is the easiest of the wings I'm not sure why no one ever wanted to go there. I think mainly because the quest was for the other 3 wings. They should have added the boss in here to that quest.

Here you see Inien brightly destroying the lovely pack I gathered for him. I make the good puller, a little more sturdy. Bring them all together and then we melt them all. I think this was in the Library wing.

This is a nice shot I took of us just before we owned Herod in the Armory. I remember my first few group to Herod were a disaster. Of course he turned out to be easy compared to the Cathedral.

We just finished clearing the whole area in front of the Cathedral. No one ever doest that just enough to get there. So that was fun gathering a side at a time and destroying them :) Puddles took revenge on runners! (Puddles in the water elemental)

I had to take this shot because we got the Whitemane's Chapeau to drop after we destroyed the Cathedral. Inien ended up having to take her and her boyfriend by himself because the Pizza arrived. :) He won of course. The funny thing about this picture is I wore this horrible hat all the way till I was 60! I think I went into MC with this hat.

It was a fun run!

Instance 3 - Shadowfang Keep

For instance 3 we choose Shadowfang Keep of course and I drug Oakshlis along for the ride. This instance has slightly higher level mobs in it than DM so I actually managed to kill him a few times, Oops!

Of course there was much AOE action which is always fun. The problem would come when Oakshlis walked too close and they would run straight to him since I never generated any threat lol

The view from the top of Shadowfang is quite nice this time of year. You can see the little city below the instance.

This was one of the bosses dieing. They were all pushovers of course :)

Here we are waving goodbye to the finally boss before I burned on his mana away and we practiced out melee skills on him lol

I never went into this instance at the appropriate level before. I've dragged a few FEST through it before. I came to it with Fesster once too. It is a pretty neat instance though with a lot of character and a few interesting fights.

Instance 2 - Dead Mines

So the honor of Instance #2 went to Dead Mines. I originally was just going to run it with some group wanting to do it however Inian was on with his little 13 Hunter Oakshlis and I thought it would be fun to drag him through DM.

So Oakshlis was standing back during this fight. I was mostly using the reflective shield and Holy Nova through the whole instance neither of which generate hate. Not to mention I have 20% reduction from Silent Resolve. Plus Oakshlis could pull mobs from 500 yard lol After the Shreder was destroyed in fact the Goblin boss ran straight for Oakshlis.

I enjoyed laying out all the mobs, it is so much fun collecting and AOEing in instances!

This was one of the most fun pulls I did next to the ship pull. The ship pull actually hurt pretty bad after I decided to pull the entire bottom level :)

This brings back some memories. I remember the first time I saw this Ship it was so amazing. This was such great instance. I remember the first time I tried Smite my group wiped on him like 3 times and gave up. Next time I came I was a little higher level and we got him good. Cookie was fun, I used his mace until I was able to get the Westfall staff from the quest.

When all was said and done Oakshlis had gained a level, got plenty of weapon and armor upgrades. Plus I disenchanted all of the greens and had plenty of mats for enchanting all of his stuff.

So tomorrow I plan to drag Oakshlis through Shadowfang Keep and Blackfathoms Deeps which should be interesting! After that I want to see if I can pull him through Scarlet Monastery without killing him!

Instance 1 - Naxx

I was all ready to make Deadmines my first instance on my latest mission when Vineeshewah, our raid leader sent me a tell and asked if I wanted to go to Naxx tonight. I had just landed in Westfall but I though, hell Naxx is an instance :) Why not start at the top of the list so I joined up.
Here we are waiting just before Heigan the Unclean. This was a boss I hadn't done with them yet so I got a private explanation. It is sort of a suppression room type fight were you go straight through this area with lots of mobs and stuff that slows you and then you run right in on the boss. I had no problem with that part :)

You get up on the altar here and everyone fights him for phase one. Again no problem :)
Then he jumps up there and you gota run around avoiding this green acid goo that shoots up or whatever it is. That part I wasn't so good at :) Ahh well never seen the thing before, we killed him anyways.

Then to my Luck(?) we proceeded to try a boss FEST has not killed before, Loatheb. We tried many times trying a few varied things all involving healing the main tank with shadow priests(see someone found a use for them!). The boss has a debuff hat prevents you from healing but once a minute which is quite evil. This of course doesn't apply to VE hince the 4 shadow priests :) We got close but didn't successfully get him. I had to go after this shot, this is just after Citan died.

Anyways a great start to my Instance victory lap.

Victory Lap

I thought of this today on my way home from work. I am going to do a victory lap of all the instances on current live up till the expansion comes out on my Priest. A sort of fun look back at the old world before everything changes. I dunno how often some of the people do some of the instances so it may just be me but I'm gonna try and do all of them from Deadmines on up! Many of the instances, at least the top end 60 instances will probably be done very little if at all after the expansion. Much better drops in even Ramparts of Blood Furnace. Stay tuned for my journey through memory lane!
